Fashion Month is officially here — and with New York, London, Milan and Paris about to set the tone for the season ahead, the question isn't simply what will be on the runway?

It's what will we actually want to wear afterwards?

Every season, Fashion Week gives us the pieces that dominate our feeds, the bags that suddenly become impossible to find, the shoes everyone starts hunting down and the unexpected trends that somehow end up everywhere six months later.

For Spring/Summer 2027, we're predicting a move away from overly polished minimalism and towards something much more personal: more colour, more texture, more personality and a little more fun.

01. THE IT BAG GETS BIGGER

Tiny bags have had their moment. Now we're predicting a return to proper handbags.

02. VINTAGE ISN'T GOING ANYWHERE

If there's one category we think is about to get even bigger, it's vintage.

2026 has already been a huge year for archival bags, with fashion houses reviving icons from their own archives — and consumers increasingly looking for pieces that feel unique rather than simply new.

We're expecting to see:

The appeal is obvious.

Why carry the bag everyone just bought when you could carry the bag everyone is about to wish they had?

03. SAY HELLO TO MAXIMALISM

The era of “if you know, you know” minimalism isn't disappearing completely — but fashion is clearly getting louder.

Colour, embellishment, contrasting prints and unexpected combinations are coming back into focus. Vogue's early SS27 trend predictions point towards clashing colours, playful styling and a much more expressive approach to getting dressed.

04. THE RETURN OF THE STATEMENT SHOE

Shoes are about to have a moment.

We've already seen the return of more unusual footwear — from barely-there sandals to increasingly experimental toe shapes — and SS27 could take that even further.

Our prediction?

Shoes that are the outfit.

Think sculptural heels, dramatic flats, embellished sandals, unexpected textures and silhouettes that make you stop scrolling.

The classic pump isn't going anywhere. But she's about to get some competition.

05. BALLET FLATS — BUT NOT AS YOU KNOW THEM

The ballet flat comeback is continuing, but we're expecting the next version to feel less sweet and much more fashion-forward.

Glove-like flats, pointed toes, embellished details and unexpected materials are already gaining traction.

Think:

less ballerina, more fashion editor.

And if the current obsession with flats continues, expect luxury houses to turn them into serious statement pieces.

06. SHEER IS STAYING

If the past few seasons have taught us anything, it's that sheer dressing isn't going anywhere.

But we're predicting a slightly more romantic version for SS27 — flowing fabrics, delicate layers, translucent skirts and dresses, soft draping and pieces that reveal just enough.

07. DRAPING IS ABOUT TO HAVE A MOMENT

We're also watching the return of draped, goddess-like silhouettes.

Think fluid fabrics, gathered waists, asymmetric necklines and dresses that move with the body rather than sitting rigidly on it.

The mood is less corporate, more cinematic.

“I got dressed.”

More:

“I just walked out of a Greek mythology movie.”

The modern-goddess direction is already appearing in SS27 trend forecasts, particularly through draping and ethereal materials.

08. COLOUR IS BACK — AND WE'RE BETTING ON ORANGE

We've spent years living in beige, black, cream and every possible variation of quiet luxury.

We're ready for colour.

Orange is already emerging as one of the standout colours predicted for SS27, alongside increasingly expressive colour combinations.

cobalt
unexpected greens
pink paired with red

And we're particularly excited to see what happens when these colours move from clothing into bags, shoes and jewellery.

09. JEWELLERY GETS BIGGER

Minimal jewellery had a very good run.

Now we're expecting more statement jewellery — sculptural earrings, oversized cuffs, layered necklaces, colourful gemstones and pieces that feel almost like miniature works of art.

This is part of a broader move towards accessories that express personality rather than simply complete an outfit.

And honestly?

We're here for it.

10. THE SURPRISE TREND: PERSONAL STYLE

Perhaps our biggest prediction isn't a particular colour, bag or shoe.

It's individuality.

Fashion is becoming less about following one aesthetic and more about mixing them.

Vintage with new.
